MOTIVATION IS A LIE – SHOW UP ANYWAY

Let me tell you a secret most won’t say out loud: motivation is garbage. Yeah, I said it.

If you’re waiting to “feel motivated” before you hit the gym, you’re gonna spend a lot of time on the couch watching other people build the body you keep dreaming about.

You think I wake up every day ready to crush skull-crushing squats and carry steel like a warhorse? Hell no. Some mornings I feel like roadkill. But I show up. Every. Damn. Time.

Why?
Because discipline > motivation. Always.

1. STOP LOOKING FOR THE FEELING

Motivation is a feeling. Feelings are soft. They come and go like a cheap pre-workout buzz. Discipline is a decision. You don’t ask yourself if you feel like brushing your teeth — you just do it. Same with lifting. Get in, get it done.

2. SET A STANDARD, NOT A GOAL

Goals are cute. “I wanna get abs.” “I wanna bench two plates.” Cool story. But what happens when life kicks you in the gut? When your boss is a jerk, your back hurts, or your dog throws up on your sneakers? Goals vanish. But a standard? That’s forever. You train because it’s WHO YOU ARE — not just what you wanna do.

3. WIN THE SMALL BATTLES

Didn’t wanna train today? But you showed up anyway? That’s a win. That’s how you build mental calluses. Brick by brick. Set by set. Those small wins stack up, and one day, you’ll look in the mirror and see someone who doesn’t flinch when life gets hard.

4. REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED

Look back at Day One. That version of you — tired, weak, unsure — they wanted this. Don’t let them down. Be the person they needed. Be the reason they kept going.

Motivation is a visitor.
Discipline is your roommate.
And results? They only hang out with the consistent.

So shut up, lace up, and show up.
You don’t need motivation — you need to move.
